You are exactly right.

We all have a story about how rich we would be if only our mother hadn't thrown out our cherished baseball card collections. But we forget that if none of our mothers had thrown out our collections everybody would have those cards and they wouldn't be expensive.

But that is why my focus is now on obsolete chips, they are the equivalent of collecting those old cards from our childhood that all our mom's threw out.
