Today the greatest Red Sox player of all time passed away. I had the honor of seeing him play and meeting him on several occasions in Boston. I was at the game when he returned from Korea in 1952 and hit a pinch hit home run on the first ball thrown to him. That ball went over the Green Monster and was never seen again.
