Ditto on the "Good Post" comment.
To me, this board is like a perpetual club meeting, where I can come to discuss my hobby, learn about it and meet others who share this obsession.
I've collected a lot of things during my life, but this is the only thing I've stuck with very long. And, I think the reason is the people in the hobby. I could spend the time that I spend on this board looking at chips on eBay or studying books on the subject, but the people on this board breathe life into the hobby for me.
Sure, we've got crochety old f@rts who argue about all kinds of stuff, and the occasional idiot posting hateful cr@p under an alias, but a newcomer can post a message on this board and total strangers will always ask for his address to send him some starters for his collection.
I registered at the new board, but frankly, like Gene, I don't have time to check it like I do this one.
