Actually my point was that not only the person using the fireworks in the personal use of fireworks is endangered.

I was a spectator at a professional event. So unless your spinal injury occured as a non-participant in football it is not a fair comparison (actually the fireworks display that got me was at a football game and I had no idea that they would be launching burning projectiles pre-game)

Though generally a libertarian I support government regulation (not necessarily a ban) of at least projectile fireworks because they are in fact a danger to nonparticipants. If you want to blow off your own hand thats fine with me.
