Speaking of snakes, here's my little snake experience from a couple weeks ago. The day after my wife had the baby I came back home for a few minutes to walk the dog and pick up a few things. We have a small paved path that leads into the woods just outside the door. As we (the dog and I) were getting just into the woods I heard something moving in the grass and the dog went after it. I yanked him back when I heard the rattle! It turned out to be a 5 or 6 foot rattle snake. This is the first time I had ever seen a rattle snake in the wild. I'm a little gun shy when it comes to walking the dog up there these days. Stepping on one of those can ruin your whole afternoon.
