That is why, as in the thread about Sterlings Magic Cleaner, when I posted a question about would you chip out the chips or simply expose them and leave them be in the concrete? Mark Cotton replied, Wouldn't a chunk of concrete with a couple of those old chips protruding make a great paperweight??
I totally agree with that for two reasons. First being like you say, it would take alot of work and you have a high risk of destroying more chips. Second, from the articles that I posted and what you just contributed the concrete is such a big part of the chips history.
Personally if I was fortunate to trip over, without breaking my leg of course, a chunk of concrete with a casino chip aggregate I would break it apart only into reasonable size chunks and expose a few of the chips and leave the rest be. It would possibly be a nice ornament on a credenza behind your desk or as a paper weight... You could mount the rock onto a nice polished and finished wooden base... Just my thoughts.
Unfortunately though, unless I personally found it, I would probably not be able to afford such an item with the undoubtable value of the enclosed chips. Fun to think of though.
