Lloyd, while you are correct about the symbol and the meaning, I don't think anyone is going to let us forget the atrocities attached to it, for good reasons. This one is probably carved into the annals representing hate and genocide.
Somehow I read that maybe if someone used this for a symbol of something else, it might soften the bad history. Imagine that, some new car company, with the swastika as the hood ornament. I don't think we're going to see that one!
But your note made me think that over time, other symbols do change meanings. There is a left hand and a right hand swastika. Most people wouldn't know which is which. (including me!) I believe the Indian symbol and the good luck symbol, was the opposite direction.
No matter, it's just an old poker chip and has nothing to do with anything we detest, so let it be. Please.
(although I am in favor of banning all picture chips of Gene)
Have a happy and safe 4th everyone. That's part of what this whole message thread is all about. Our freedom to pick and choose, without someone dictating our chip likes and dislikes, based on THEIR person guidelines. Funny how that works. The person who is against something, wants a ban, wants to dictate to everyone else? And it's opposition to a closed minded dictator...
Kind of ironic, isn't it?
