you didnt take my strong post as a personal attack on you. That was not at all my intent.
The intent of my posts...as well as Bernie's can be boiled down to one simple fact: Many people are deeply offended by the swastika. I seriously doubt that you are a neonazi or even antisemetic. HOWEVER...believe me....there are PLENTY! I'm not talking about the middleeast..or Al Queda, or Hesbala, or Hamas...or the numerous groups like that...that are still hell bent on wiping the jews off the face of the earth. Im talking about people right here in the good ole U.S. of A. that we work with, and share our neighborhoods with. The antisemetic movement is everywhere..even today. And since Sept. 11..its in our face even more.
You see Jill, we arent ticked at you or our other chipper friends for having these. To you...these were merely old poker chips. What we are stating is we and many others see this and hits a nerve. And what it comes down to...is that some of us are telling the chipboard world that it is offensive to us.
Unless the people that are offended say something...how will others know? I think many chippers will now be aware of the still real feelings associated with the swastka. I also feel that many chipers for this reason will be respectful of the sensitivity of others.
I certainly dont think you were trying to say this symbol isnt associated with the Nazis to you, so therefore you dont care. Although, your turkey analagy came out that way. I would assume since she has shared with you her feelings on Thanksgiving and what happened to her and voiced her sensitivity on the matter...I'm sure you are respectful of her feelings.
I know you are a kind person...and I for one am very fond of you. I also understand that you have a ton of these chips and dont want to get stuck with them and I dont blame you. Maybe there are alternative ways for you to sell these that wont offend?
I'll still be happy to trade with you....and I'll still be happy to call you a friend.
