The first privately minted gaming tokens in Nevada were produced in 1965, Roy. Silver dollars had been used till then but silver was increasing in price and the dollar coins were being saved by players and tourists. Your Franklin Mint dollar was one of the earlier ones but I'm away from home and can't put a date on it. Most of the early tokens were dated. The best reference for Nevada gaming tokens is Janice O'Neal's check list. No pictures but they are well described and each has a catalog number. I believe she still advertises it in the club magazine and charges only a nominal price for the inch-thick listing.
