If you're more comfortable using a travel agent I would suggest you shop around for another one. My wife has owned or worked in travel agencies for about 20 years and they still book air-only for their clients, and they can usually get them a better deal than you can find online. Since the airlines have eliminated or drastically reduced commissions paid to travel agencies, the travel agencies have had to start charging for their services, but it's usually a nominal amount and you can still come out ahead in the long run. Travel agents write tickets all day long so they know about deals that you and I don't. And, they're a lot more helpful if you run into any problems later.
