The references to ...

... the Creator and Divine Providence demonstrate a belief in some form of god. They cannot be read as "Christian" references, which was my point.

Furthermore, the Declaration of Independence was written before the Constitution, which contains not a single reference to "god", a "creator", "divine providence" or any other reference to religion other than the proscription set forth in the First Amendment.

Whatever can be said about the Declaration of Independence, it is not evidence that the Founding Fathers didn't mean what they said in the Constitution.
