I think you make a good point - while I think it's a shame that the chips may well be destroyed, I too would hate the idea of a long line of people queueing to get the chip and spo shortly after this tragic event. My concern was that a lot of genuine people (chippers and Who fans, some both) would like the chip for genuine reasons and not just profit (and by that I mean many $100's of quick profit, and not the new issue providers who enable the rest of us to get these chips at maybe a small margin to basically cover their costs).

If a chip is issued in the future then this would be good, and I agree that this time it should definitely be produced in such numbers that everyone who wants one can get one - that means no disappointed chippers or fans, and no possibility of making a big profit because of a scarce issue.
