Sorry for the brief posts, I'v ebeen covering this story for my job. just got back from interviews at Hard Rock. Since i had run a story a few days ago on the chip release, I asked if they were cancelling it. At 5:00 PM (PT) the official word was that they were still discussing it, but everyone sincerely doubted that the chip would be released.

I have to say I hope they don't, or if they do I would like to see them simply put them into circulation unnannounced. I'd hate to see the profit-seekers lined up tomorrow morning when we should be remembering a great musician.
