Archie, please don't think for one moment my objection is against Jim Munding, for it isn't. I believe Jim has as much knowledge relating to slots and keys as anyone, more than most.
I do not believe however, that this was his idea for if it was, I'm pretty sure he would have counseled with others he knew would have an imput and this he did not do. No, I think (although I have no proof) that he was handed this "job" of putting together a chapter by those "higher up individuals" and told to go with it.
If I am wrong in my assumption, then I formally apologize to Jim but I belive him to have more savvy than for him to come up with this scheme and pounce it on us all of a sudden.
I care less about swizzle sticks, ashtrays, ice cube machines or toilet seats. I am only concerned with Slots and keys. And my concerned is for us to be left alone to do as we have done in the past.
I suppose one way to INSURE that dissenters join a chapter is to prevent attendence at the national trade session, and restrict non-members from trading at our local meetings. You have the power to do that if you wish.
There is not much more I can really say on the subject. At this point we are at an impasse --or maybe I should say, I am at an impasse.
I think it would be nice if others, (other than the executive committee members) to post their opinion--either pro or con-- IF THEY HAVE THE GUTS--so that all of us could get a feel of how the wind is blowing. For all I know, I might be the only one against this proposal and if that is the case, what's the argument about.
