Hi Jason, I think you're in a better position than any of us since you live in Great Britain and can visit libraries where some books are UK laid.
I'm sure there's plenty of casino hstory to find if you search for it, especially during the 60s and in the late-70s and early-80s when such clubs as Curzon House, Intl'l. Sporting, Plam Beach; Ladbroke, Hyde Park, Hertford and the Vic were closed up by the Gaming Control Board for all types of reasons stemming from financial improprieties, license violations, fraud, illegal gaming solicitation... and who knows what more can be found in the Times from that era.
