Plenty of political jobs are done by volunteers. Many communities have Board of Educations, even town councils that are volunteer. Doesn't mean if the voters don't like what you are doing they've given up their freedom to complain. And it doesn't seem like we have any shortage of qualified candidates stepping forward in the club anyway
