Even today italian laws forbids gambling.in Italy.
Only four casinos were authorized in the 30´s by Mussolini decree, and they are still open:
CASINO DE VENEZIA, CASINO DE SAN REMO, CASINO DE CAMPIONE and CASINO ST.VINCENT.
In this last Casino de St.Vincent, in January 1963, Sean Connery ( the british actor that roled James Bond films)won about 30000 USD in three consecutive spin of the wheel of roulette, betting in the same number 17.

About James Bond. I have seen again today the film MAN WITH A GOLD GUN.In some scenes of this film one can see the original macanese floating casino, that was adapted by STDM from a junk, wich was replaced later by MACAU PALACE, the floating casino, today locatted at Macau inner harbour.
In this movie one can see gambling scenes (James included)with people gambling in the upper floor around a balcony, and betting money in straw baskets suspended by rows, going up and down- this scene is not a film phantasy, the things did hapenned like that.
