Pete, April 14th the board authorized us to begin the fundraising for what we hope will be some kind of a permanant home for our club. It will be a long term project. Rather than say "this is what we need to do this particular project", we are taking a little more realistic approach. We plan to raise $50,000 in a separate account earmarked for this project. After this is accomplished we will look at all of our options which include but are not limited to, buying something, renting something, getting help from the industry, getting govermental help, or whatever it takes to get something our membership can call our own. Ideally we would like to have a place to make a very nice library, a couple of display galleries, space to store all of our cases, convention items, etc. What we end up with will depend on the work and committment of our members and a lot of luck. So far, the members have been unbeleivable, giving and doing more in the first 3 months than I ever thought possible, but we have a long way to go and we need every single members help. We also are working on a couple of projects that could move our timetable up considerably. As things progress my committee will keep the board up to date and the board will pass that info on to our membership.
