"I have no problem with that. Your chips, your money, your choice. And I wouldn't even fault you for making that choice (though I can tell you that if you follow that policy without exception, you will occasionally miss out on some good chips)"
I have certainly have missed out on a number of good chips. I don't think you have to ask me what is more important to me: Getting a chip that I want or dealing with someone that I feel is honest and an asset to the hobby.
"Does anybody remember Eddie Haskel from Leave it to Beaver? OK, I'll bite. I remember him. How does he fit in here? He was neither nice nor ethical."
Eddie Haskel appeared to be nice, at least to adults. How many times did we hear: "Good morning Mrs. Cleaver, that certainly is a nice dress your wearing today." And then Mrs. Cleaver to Mr. Cleaver: "Ward, that Eddie Haskel is certainly a nice young man." Then we would get the Ward Cleaver frown. We know, and Ward knew, Eddie's true nature, but Mrs. Cleaver believed otherwise. The appearence of being nice has nothing to do with one's ethical behavior.
