Thanks for the info Pete.
"Henry actually told me that at the present time he does not purchase or sell slabbed chips, but that he wants to remain on the list of boycotted dealers (I think he was the only remaining chip dealer) because he believes that one day it will be the basis of a lawsuit against the club."
That "one day" will never come to pass. There is nothing illegal about a group of people boycotting anything. The "List" isn't club sanctioned, so his going after the club would be ignorant. If he tried to file suit against the people who started the "List" or those on it, he'd still lose. People having similar interests agreeing to not deal with a person or entity is a basic American freedom as long as it isn't based in bigotry.
Henry has the right to slab chips. He has the right to sell them. Where he is allowed to sell (or display) them can be determined by those leasing him property space to do business when the space is within a privately organized function. I don't have to let Henry into my house if I have some chippers over for a trade session. The club doesn't have to let Henry into our house when we have some chippers over for a trade session.
Henry's bold defiance of the general distaste of slabbing with his exhibit entry, along with his personal statements to you concerning future plans to file suit against the club are IMO detrimental to the hobby, and are in fact, a stated attempt to do future damage to our club.
Sometimes cancer can be removed when detected early. Sometimes it can be treated in later stages. How late does this stage need to get before it is removed?
