"All true Archie especially the fact that we can change our minds as time passes.....look at you and COMPUTERS as time has passed"
I vividly remember Perlowski posting back then that no one should be elected CC & GTC President who was not on-line ... that Black was a dinasaur ... yet I corresponded promptly and factually to every letter I received and personally responded to every controversy including the "Our Bar" chip deal that was offered to the club and was turned down. Hey Jimbo... remember that one???
"The only thing I could possibly disagree on is your last statement regarding NCV chips. They are a "whole different animal". I was under the impression that denominational chips are produced for 'gaming purposes'. I may be wrong on this for Nevada but imagine a casino trying this in AC?????????
OK Steve.... change my hypothetical New Years Eve NCV chip scenario to a $25 chip. I'm sure that many chippers on this bb who signed up for the old Vegas World vacation packages received value chips as hotel guests. I also remember bringing about $500 dollars worth of "live" $25 Vegas World chips to a CC & GTCC Convention when Janice & Jerry had a table... and Jerry bought everyone of them off me at face value and sold them at double face. The only difference between these chips and the regular rack chips were the color of the edge inserts. I could play them at the table, or I could have turned them in at the desk at the end of my stay for full face value ... but if I turned them in, they would have known I was not a player and would not have received the mini-suite on my next trip out.
As for A.C. Showboat has recently issued a 10th Anniversary NCV chip that was distributed to their rated slot players only. One had to have received a post card in order to redeem for the chip in a keychain. Do you have one? Relatively very few A.C. chippers do. In order to get one, you must offer a bribe to a player who got one. (The Showboat bus station is/was a good place to look for desparate sellers.) I know of two brothers in town who have been offering $20 each for this chip. The deadline for this promotional offer has since expired and everyone is looking to see if there will be more promotions this summer... but I've not heard of any.
