Just delete messages and ignore them. What Katie wrote has been the case for years. The remove, means you get taken off that list, and your name gets sold to everyone else as a confirmed "good" email address.
There are programs that block addresses, but the spammers use a new address, every mailing, so that's a tough one. There is software that blocks everything except from people on you accept list.
There is a no spam internet site, which is supposed to put your name on a list that goes out to agencies, and adds you to the no contact list. I don't know if it works.
