I don't think David was talking about intentional security devices like UV tags.

I believe he is suggesting that the actual material of the chips may appear differently under "alternate light sources" not as an intential security device but simply out of the practicality that a fake chip may be made of a different material (and appear the same color under "standard light sources" as the original)
