When as a law student at UM [GO BLUE] I learned how to use those old holed IBM punch cards--we had no computer but would punch holes in the cards and write a citation or info on the card. Then when we wrote our "papers" we would put an ice pick through the holes and out would fall all relevant cards. Neat Huh. Worked better than my first pc which crashed and lost 22 pages of a law article I had been writing. (That was no great loss, however, as no one read it anyway. )
