Greg, I think you did the right thing taking it down then seeking their approval. It was playing it safe; no one could ever fault a guy for trying to play it safe or trying to do the right thing. I don't know what the legalities are concerning it. I DO think they would be (very) hard pressed to come up with a list of "damages" you caused by displaying your collection publicly. Also, I can't figure how a copyright, trademark or logo was infringed, violated or misrepresented (after all it was their chip with their logo!). In actuality, more 'damage' was done to their name/reputation by taking the image down and posting the note stating that THEY asked you to take it down. It made THEM appear unfriendly to collectors, otherwise the thought would have never been provoked.
