I'm in the CWA (Communication Workers of America) and NABET (National Association of Broadcast Engineers and Technicians) Unions. I have to bust my ass myself to get enough work to survive. In my eyes they have done nothing for me.

In 13 years only two staff jobs have been added to the division I work in...and there is plenty of work to be done, the company just fills it with freelancers. (Who don't get benefits or guaranteed hours.)

The union has failed to force the company to fill these jobs with staffers. Our particular union is getting too old and they don't want to fight for the future. They only care about what will happen until they retire. They already have been through one strike before and don't want to come close to another. Our union sucks, and is getting weaker.
