My old scanner (Microtek) worked great for ashtrays. The new one (Canon) does not & I use my digital camera for them now. As much as I tease you about getting a scanner I think you might be happier getting a digital camera. Once you learn how to use it you can make great pictures of ALL your ashtrays. You will then have it for other pictures that you want to take (say your next trip to Las Vegas) & can then share them with us also! Once you narrow down which digital camera you want you can then price them. You'll no doubt get the best deal online. Andy - Las Vegas
