For me, it goes beyond petty (meaning it actually matters to me) when the purspose of stealing my scans is to cause some harm, either financial or otherwise to me.

It is always possible to find extreme examples.

I was wrong in using absolute language. Let's put it this way, there is nothing I have seen so far in "scan stealing" that I would object to.

For example, If someone wanted to sell a Pal's Club and used my scan in his ad I would have no objection. Again, how does it adversely affect me? It doesn't.

I would object to your example or any case where the 'scan stealer' is trying to hurt me. Otherwise, the work I put into scanning was for my own benefit and I don't mind sharing with others.
