The game is played with multiple decks, in a shoe that sits in the middle of the table. The shoe must be the kind that rotates, so that each player can take their own card from the shoe when it is their turn. A pencil is used (the eraser end) (by the shorter armed little old ladies) to assist in sliding the card from the shoe to a place in front of the player and then turning it over. The pencils are never sharpened....in case it gets thrown!
It is a very addictive game. People (the little of ladies), have been known to play for extended periods without sleep. (I'm talking 24 - 36 hours!!!!)
But the worse part of the game is that it is played counter-clockwise! What a pain.
