Al:
I think me and you might have hung out had we been more geographically familiar. While I never had the rocks to get a tat, I sported a liberty mohawk for a couple of months. My college years were basically a front for my thursday, friday & sunday night punk rock show program. In the mid eighties and living in Chicago I was able to catch Naked Raygun and The Effigies, on a regular basis. Those were some of the best days of my life!
Later in the early nineties after college the Chicago scene really got good. Screeching Weasel, Pegboy, Sludgeworth, 8 bark, The Vindictives all played at out local clubs. I eventually got to know some of the guys in the bands and did some of the artwork on some of the albums. I think that is why I love the hard rock chisp so much, they do put a lot of effort into the artwork and capture some really great emotion on those litlle tiny spaces!
Although I think one of the best chips they could have made was for the Social Distortion concert last year. My wife and I flew in for that show, and I thought for sure they would have produced a chip. Mike Ness has that certian look that I thought they would go for. oh well, I'll live with the Moby chip
Rock on!
