Don't give up trying to educate those ebayers who wish not to be educated Terry. Many of them still don't understand that it is their own personal integrity that they are destroying when they misrepresent the way they do.
I recently emailed an ebay seller who had a feedback rating approaching four-figures and I asked him why he was willing to sacrifice all the obvious honest hard work that he had generated on ebay over several years for the sake of making a quick buck by describing something "rare" that really was not? Did he really think that he was fooling those who knew otherwise? What would that buyer think of him after he paid for his purchases and found out later that he had been ripped-off? He thanked me and withdrew his auction.
It is up to the seller to do the research to find out if an item is truly "rare" or "One-Of-A-Kind"... if that is how they wish to describe their auction(s). It's a lame excuse to say afterwards, "I didn't know" or "I was not aware". If they don't know, or are not sure, they shouldn't describe it otherwise.
We've all seen lot... after lot... after lot... of relatively common material being offered as "rare" from the same sellers. And we've also gotten the same responses from a few ignorant and arrogant sellers.
Don't get discouraged Terry. Keep on educating them. Pretty soon they will get the message that you were only trying to help .... after they find out they have destroyed whatever is left of their personal reputation, integrity, honesty, and former good name.
