I have the Bose speakers as well and I found that the separation of the front two speakers should be from 6 to 10 feet, depending on the distance from the TV to the normal viewing position. It's best to experiment with a Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS DVD playing. As Bob says, the rear speakers (the Bose system as dual cubes)should be angled toward the walls unless the walls are of sound absorbing materials like heavy draperies.
