As I understand the rule, you do not get credit for the No hitter for throwing 9 innings of no-hit ball if you give up a hit in extra innings. This also happened to Pedro Martinez when he was with Montreal.

In 1964 Ken Johnson threw a no hitter for Houston and lost 0-1 to Cincinnati.

In 1967 Orioles Steve Barber and Stu Miller combined for a no-hitter but lost to Detroit 1-2
