... Travis. Other than the local bar association and the Association of Deputy DA's (when I was one),I have never belonged to any association of lawyers for which membership was voluntary. That is, I am a member of the State Bar of California only because the force me to do so at the risk of losing my license to practice law.

I have no patience with the attorney trade associations, all of whom have only one thing in mind -- making more money for lawyers at the expense of everyone and anyone else.

I assume the foregoing comment would not apply to the Association of Law School Professors (if there is such a thing!), as I know them to be vastly underpaid! And self-effacing to boot.
