How do you handle the images on a spreadsheet? I tried that route first but it was cumbersome. I have used the spreadsheet method for many years with currency and just did not have images linked to the spreadsheet. I got Checkmate and likeed it so well I had Notemate written (almost the same as Checkmate but for currency). The trick with ANY method is to KEEP UP and not get behind in cataloging!
