Rick, to me it would depend on the value of the chips. Are these common house chips or high end scarce chips? Obviously, you would not want to pay more for shipping & Ins than the chips are worth, and you don't want to risk high end stuff in the regular post. So I think there is a balance and the chip value must be considered. I think you can understand my logic.
I think most people have trouble paying $2.00 for postage and finding a 57¢ stamp on the package, they feel like they have been had. On the other hand if you charge $5 and that is actual cost then its esier to swallow. A lot of eBay'rs just use it for 'enhanced' profit margin.
