I still like my original idea. If everybody is concerned about authenticity and I am! Why don't we require a statement of authenticity for everyone who sells their chips. Much like I wrote:

To the best of my knowledge, the chip I offer for sale, has not been altered, refinished, refilled or changed in any way either before or during its posession by me.

I assume that all collectors would have no problem with this!
