... Andy. The longest I've gone with absolutely no sleep was just under three days.
My longest sustained low sleep effort was a week of special training during my Yearling summer at West Point (actually just over 6 days, as I recall) during which I got a total of about 10 hours sleep. One hour of that I spent sleeping while standing up with several other cadets crammed so tight into a one hole outhouse that we were holding each other up! Of course, our awake time was spent humping around the boonies with full packs and rifles under simulated combat conditions.
Were you playing poker four straight days without sleep??
I just finished posting a very long message on the club board regarding my resignation as Claims Director and this is absolutely my last post before bed tonight (now in 41st hour without sleep and I am getting too old for this stuff!!).
