I think there are some differences between the two issues. I seem to remember that Archie Black posted a while ago that one series was aligned so that if you spun it in vertical axsis (ie: put your fingers at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock). the two sides would be face up. If you did the same on the other issue with 9&3 o'clock it would align.
