I understand that these chips weren't altered for home use. I was only pointing out to Bob that the criteria for a "counterfeit" chip is not the quantity "altered"
I agree "altered" is a better term for these chips, however I expect you will agree with me that not all "altered" chips are necessarily intended to be deceptive (as in my hypothetical where they are altered for home use or Jim Reilly's hypothetical where a chip is damaged and repaired to cash it in.)
