Oh yeah Mark, they were determined I was part of an International Identity stealing ring and I was placed under full investigation by Customs. The worst part is, being I work for the same Agency in Taxation enforcement, I had to report it immediatley to my superior. I sat on pins and needles for weeks, as the code of conduct states that if my superior gets the notice from Customs I am under investigation, I am to be immediately suspended (Without pay) for a minimum of 3 months and/or terminated. I must have argued with the B**ch at the border crossing for over 1 1/2 hours about the usefulessness of the cards as ID. In fact at one point, I pulled one card out of the pile, and said, "HI, I'm Ethel Smith, an 85 year old blue haired lady from somewhere, Can you please issue me a birth certificate and a drivers licence" just to try to prove a point. Needless to say, it didn't work and after the car was thoroughly searched and I was subjected to more questioning as were my traveliing companions, we were allowed to return home, but everything was kept and to this day (3 months later) I still have not received word as to what the status of the investigation is. SO, now when I cross the border to a casino in the US, all the cards that I find get mailed home!!!! Not one package has ever been held up at the Customs mail center yet!!
