I actually do remember that. I was at the U of R 27 years ago (probably buried under a snow drift about this time of year) and at the same time, my brother was at SU. It did indeed work out pretty well for both schools... Mike won the "big one" for us 12 years ago. You really GOTTA love Division III sports!

In reading the article, however, I have learned that I've had a misconception regarding the definition of the word "venerable". I had always thought that it meant "revered", or something to that extent, but after looking it up in the dictionary, an alternate definition is "antediluvian", which is obviously the description the author was going for in portraying the Palestra.
