MORE COMPLETE NEWS ON THE POKER MILLION STORY

This is also lifted from Andy Glazer's newsletter:

"In the Editor's note, I mentioned that Poker Million 2002 has been postponed. The press release about the postponement indicated:

"Poker Million Ltd, organisers of Poker Million 2002 - the worlds largest poker game, has decided to postpone this year's tournament, scheduled to take place 28 - 31 March in London, due to legal uncertainty surrounding the event.

"Poker Million Ltd has fully briefed the Gaming Board for Great Britain on the status of the tournament since conception and they are satisfied that Poker Million is a 'private game' and thus falls within the law. Poker Million Ltd has also received independent legal advice that the tournament would operate within the law.

"Despite this legal advice, over the past few weeks the Metropolitan Police has voiced concern that the event may breach section five and section six of the 1968 Gaming Act. This concern has given Poker Million Ltd no alternative but to postpone the event in the best interests of the participants, until legal clarification can be gained.

"Subject to legal clarification, Poker Million Ltd hope to announce a new re-scheduled date for the tournament at the earliest opportunity."
