Re: El Panama, Elephant Hills, Kazina Greece

Elephant Hills is in Zimbabwe (formerly the British colony of Rhodesia changed in 1980) as you have noted. I have been there a few times when I lived there for a year or so. It is in the Victoria Falls area and is one of the nicest hotels in the area (there are about 4 casinos in that area). It includes a heliport for flights over the falls.

Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. It is also the best whitewater rafting in the world. The river (Zambezi) has multiple class 5 rapids - many of them in a row. Amazing thing to do... once.... and only once...

Zimbabwe is in sub-saharan Africa north of South Africa and west of Mozambique. I lived there from December 96 to November 97 (Then moved to Mozambique for a few months). It was a very interesting place to live.

You picked a very interesting time to ask about Zim. They are having an election right now for President. Their currently president, King Bobby, may actually get a vote or two against him. He'll find a way to win, no matter how many people he must have killed...

And before anyone asks... over the year and a half I lived there, including the 4 months at the casino in Mozambique and visited casinos in Zim, Mozambique, and Swaziland - but never brought home a single chip. This was before I started my collection.

The most famous things to happen in Zimbabwe was the birth of Nick Price (PGA golfer and a nice guy) and the famous meeting of Stanley and Livingston.

You also had a question about value. The one you are mentioning is probably still the current chip. If you look at face value - the Zim dollar is someone in the area of Z$53 to US$1 (historical note: in 1997 it was Z$7 to US$1, civil wars will do that to your economy). So, face value, 2 cents.

I suspect its probably worth a few bucks just because of the location. A cancelled one went for $7-8 on ebay a while back. This was cause of a small bidding war between me and someone else who wanted it for a similar reason, we were there but forgot.
