There sure is a connection Roy!

If you have the 8th Edition of "The Chip Rack," there's a note with a similar photo on page 381.

Here, roughly, is the story.

The Cleveland mob ran most of the gaming in Northern KY, including the Stardust there (the chip on the right in your photo).

In Las Vegas, Tony "The Admiral" Cornero, whose gambling ships off the coast of California had been shut down, began building a large casino on what would become the Las Vegas Strip, intending to call it the "Starlight."

While the hotel was still being built, Cornero was across the street at the Desert Inn playing craps, suffered a heart attack at the table, and died.

Moe Dalitz, who owned "Wilbur Clark's" Desert Inn, and who had been the Cleveland mob's gambling czar before he moved to Las Vegas, took over the unfinished hotel, finished it, and opened it as the Stardust.

Clearly the logos are a fantastic piece of evidence of the link between Northern KY and Las Vegas.
