I have one and love it. It works MUCH better than the old home phoneline system I used to use.

Hook the router to your computer with an ethernet card. Buy the wireless nodes for each computer. They hook up via usb and are powered by the usb so no other cord is necessary. Your wife can wander around the house or even outside with her laptop and stay connected the whole time.
