I've had a couple people ask me how to do a scan to show the security features of a chip.
Instead of using a scanner, I use a digital camera mounted on a tripod.
Settings:
1. Flash - off. The camera I use will adjust and take a longer exposure automatically.
2. Macro Focus on (for up close photos).
3. I like to also use the self-timer feature. This will make the camera take the shot after a couple of seconds freeing my hands up to hold the blacklite.
3. I try not to have very much regular light in the room. Especially no direct lighting. Otherwise it will wash out the blacklite.
4. Hold blacklite to the side and above the chip. Just enough to cause the security features to show.
5. Experiment a lot!
Good Luck!
