West Virginia Gaming News

The West Virginia Lottery Commission voted unanimously to allow the
Charlestown Races to add 1,500 slot machines to the 2,000 it already had.
The additional machines were part of a large expansion at the facility, and
officials said they were necessary because attendance had grown. The vote
Thursday came after practically no public sentiment against the increase, a
fact that officials take as a positive sign. This phase is just part of the
plan which will include a new parking garage complex, large hotel with
gambling amenities and hopes that within 2 years other forms of gambling
will be offered such as Roulette, Craps and various tabled games.
