The Riverwalk is a must; Mercado is fun with at least one very good Mexican restaurant there. On the street fronting the grand old S.A. Hotel--the St Anthony one block closer to the Alamo area is a two story antique place where I have found poker chips in past trips. Depending on the weather and if you have a rental car go to New Brunfels--northeast of SA.
