Just received my copy of the NJNJ (New Jersey Numismatic Journal). Front page article by Editor Rich Berberian is as follows:
..... "There has been a lot written in the numismatic press regarding the various grading services which have been with us since about 1986. It comes down to recognizing that the temporary ownership of pieces of history is something which provides collectors with a sense of accomplishment and pride but is not needed to have a fulfilling life. It is therefore up to each and every one of us to educate ourselves so that when we decide to part with our dollars for the ownership of a desired rare coin, we do so with our eyes wide open.
Some of the grading services which are in the market right now are blatantly absurd and seem to be willing to put any grade desired on a coin holder. Let's make sure that we are educated enough to avoid these marketeers and deal only with dealers who provide fair value for our hard earned dollars."
